    First with the littlest of the bunch-- Emma
    she is the perfect baby (well toddler now :( she's funny, sweet and cuddly, independent, charming and beautiful!! She is learning so much each day--whether it's a new word or some sort of monkey climbing technique. She is riot and as cute as a button!

    Than we have Daddy;
    Osvaldo is a drummer for an up and coming band. When he's not out saving the world one musically deprived person at a time, hes at home helping mommy with everything there is to help with. (Imagine a man that cooks, cleans, is considerate AND helps out with the baby!!?? Mommy hit the megabucks, ;)

    Than we have Mommy;
    Barbara is a busy bee, she's a full time highschool teacher of Geometry,ALgebra, and Science. She cherishes all the special mommy moments but has not been able to document them as well as she'd like :( Daddy left the HD digicam in the car with the windows rolled down, it rained...so R.I.P digicam :(

    to homeschool or not to homeschool....

    I am seriously considering Homeschooling my daughter (and future children). I am a Math/Science teacher, so I think I'd be up to the challenge. I am a little worried of the social reprocussions. Will this affect my daughters social skills? Will she be too sheltered growing up, and go wild in college? These are my worries, but than again, I see firsthand how highschool (and even middle school) children are now a days. The overprotecting mother in me really wants to shelter and protect my little munchkin from exposure to the dangers of peer pressure. I see alot of homeschooling moms on here and I'd really like your input! :)

    I'm a homeschooler, and I love it! I honestly don't think that socialization is an issue. You may even notice that your kids have better social skills than their peers. I get comments to that effect fairly often.

    There are negatives, but they are mostly in the amount of work involved for Mom and the fact that it may require you to live on one income!

    I would encourage you to give it a try for kindergarten. Children at this age usually still love being with Mom, and academically it's pretty easy! Also, you can cover as much one-on-one in two hours as they do all day in school. Plus you won't have to spend any time getting them ready or driving them to/from school.

    That's what I did over 10 years ago. I decided to homeschool my oldest in K and see how it went. Now, she's in 11th grade and we are best friends! I have three boys in 4th, 6th and 7th grades.

    I recommend the Five in a Row curriculum for kindergarten, but there are plenty of other options. It was on the Five in a Row message board that I heard of Panasonic LiHD, in fact!

    Hi. I am a homeschooling mom to my 3 year old daughter. I was a High School English teacher and left teacher a year ago to start a business and decided to get an early start on homeschooling. It is a great decision, requires patience and innovation, but I really do believe that it is the best option for my daughter.
