Not sure that you can do this as the digital files are generally copy protected. If the files are not copy protected then you can use a program like Pinnacle or Roxio to burn an AVCHD DVD. Then you can use the software that comes with Panasonic AVCHD camcorders "HD writer" to transfer the content to an SD card in avchd format. The digital versions of content from commercial films generally prohibit you doing this and they are generally not HD quality

i have a digital copy of batman movie that came with the bd dvd i bought. i can wath it on my laptop which is not bd. how do i format that to avhd so that i may copy it to a SD card and watch it on my panny pz 850u?

ok, figured out how to get AVCHD files to the PS3. Very simple, just copy onto a thumb drive. Next question - what is the best editing software for AVCHD? Just want to do simple stuff like combine little clips into one "movie" and add some music. The ZS3 bundled software allows editing (deleting) but can't seem to use it for combining clips. Any software suggestions? Again, looking for simple stuff without a lot of bells and whistles. thanks.

I recently purchased a ZS3. Fantastic camera! How do I get videos from my computer to my PS3 so I can see them on my TV. My PS3 is connected to my TV via router but does not seem to recognize AVCHD video files. Do I need to copy all the video files onto a DVD or thumb drive then plug into the PS3? Thanks!

as i said above it is HD video at 720P using the avchd compression format but not 1080P as is AVCHD standard. this is what the ZS3 uses

So what is AVCHD Lite ? As in the Panasonic new ZS3.

AVCHD lite is a 720P version of AVCHD found in some of the new Pansonic still cameras - it looks pretty good and having it in pocketable camera is very nice.
