I used to live in Algonac, MI and a friend of mine is a Panasonic family, the Wirgau family. She knows how much I like to take pictures and she thought I'd have a chance at winning that competition so she suggested I join. Now I love this site.

There is a picture that I took at the zoo while working with a kids program. The kids are reaching up and touching the glass beneath the feet of a polar bear that is walking above them. It's such a picture of joy and I love the colors in it. The angle is really cool as well. Plus that is my favorite place in the zoo so it's a great reminder to me of a great place. I surprised myself with that photo.

Taking pictures is all about how you see things. It's about being creative and knowing how to see God's beauty in its purest state. Everyone can see a picture with their eyes, it's all about taking an every day, ordinary shot and with angles and different settings turning something ordinary into extraordinary.

I like this site because I have a reason to take pictures more then just to remember things. I can share photos, get feedback and see others photos for good ideas. I learn a lot on this site. Plus every now and then when I'm feeling lucky I can try a contest. Its fun to be connected by certain interests.
