How did you find out about LivingInHD.com?

I heard about LivingInHD.com on Facebook.

What motivates you to take photos?

I like to convey the mood and feeling of a place, event or people in my photographs. I want to share the emotion that I feel. I also try to view images from a different angle or perspective.

What is your favorite photo of your currently uploaded photos here on the site?

That would be "Flying Into Spring" which is the shot of the Fly-Fisherman on the first day of Spring.

What are some photography/videography tips you'd like to give to the community?

    1. Take lots of shots. Having started out in photography using film and having to measure your shots based on the number of rolls of film you had and the costs of processing, I really appreciate the Digital revolution which lets you have the freedom to take many, many shots. You can experiment and take risks and not have to worry about your film supply. 2. Watch the light. Meaning you need to be aware of where the light is coming from and how that effects the exposure, contrast and clarity of the photo. Shooting into the sun or with the sun on the edge of the frame results in that low-contrast kind of washed out look. Use a lens shade or your hand to minimize these effects. 3. Look for a different angle or view of a subject; try low angle or high angle, shoot from various distances and zoom settings. 4. If the situation permits, take some time to view the scene from different positions before taking any shots. Try to find the one that makes the scene "jump-out" at you. 5. When taking pictures of people outdoors with bright light behind them, use your flash to help compensate the exposure. 6. Look at other peoples photos on a site like LiHD. You can learn a lot by looking at how other people work.

What have you gained from this site?

I've gained an appreciation for all the different styles and takes on taking photographs. That the seemingly mundane subject matter can be quite beautiful and striking. Also, that so many people all over the world can produce such impactful images. Also, the photo tips are a constant source of learning new things and reminding me of things I'd forgotten.
