How did you find out about LivingInHD.com?
I heard about the site through my company internally. I’ve been a Panasonic employee for 19 years and I am amazed at the quality and depth of their product line. My favorite products are their digital cameras! For many years I used to shoot with 35 mm cameras, but when I got my hands on a digital still there was no turning back! So naturally, I signed up as a member right away. What is your favorite photo out of your currently uploaded photos here on the site? That's a difficult choice. I have several but I guess it would have to be one of the first I uploaded when I joined. It is of Naboo, my Siberian Husky. I took the picture in our backyard one afternoon with my DMC-FZ20. Using the American flag as a back drop on the fence, he posed so regal for me. The natural outdoor lighting set the perfect light on his black coat and the red and white stripes make him just stand out so vividly. What are some photography/videography tips you’d like to give to the community?
Don't be afraid of making mistakes – sometimes the mistakes turn out to be the most interesting shots or the best lessons learned for use of your camera and getting that one great shot! For example, I accidentally discovered how I like taking concert shots at an angle. This makes the subject appear more dramatic and appealing to the eye. Always have your camera with you (even a small compact) because you never know when something will strike you that you just can’t miss taking! What motivates you to take good photos?
Great subjects and great events! My Huskies are my “nature subjects” and I love photographing musicians during live concerts. The lighting and the movement create the perfect setting to capture human passion in the moment. The range of colors is limitless, natural and artificial, and always changing. I see things differently in everyday life because of photography. I look at most things as if they would be subjects in pictures. What have you gained from this site?
I see the difference in other folk’s perspective. Looking through the gallery of pictures seeing something interesting and saying to myself – why didn’t I think of that or how clever is that. It really motivates me! I find the Online Photo Classes to be a most informative tool. Being able to see, hear and communicate with the instructors one on one is great. In learning what are the correct settings to use on my cameras or the tools to enhance a photo opens up endless possibilities! I try photographing that particular subject matter that is featured on the site just to get me even more motivated and to learn what the camera is really capable of! Next, I want to attend a class with one of the featured photography instructors so I can broaden my experience.
