I had just bought the new Panasonic Lumix DMC-G10 and came across information about LivingInHD.com while surfing the web. The site has so much to offer; such as tutorials, blogs, forums as well as photo sharing.

Although I am a writer, I find photography to be an immediate expression as well as a way to capture a unique moment. Now with the advent of digital, my own photography has improved as you see the instant results and how better to capture and frame your subject. I learn so much from seeing and sharing photos with others too.

A photograph of a delicate, but weathered, yellow daisy taken with my G10 was one of my first photos—sharp, excellent color and tone. The G10 outdoes itself and communicates exactly what I see as a photographic expression.

I have two tips – the first is to shoot in RAW (if your camera has that capability) as you’ll get better detail, richer colors and tones. The processing only takes a bit longer but you’ll get better quality photographic results. The second is to take many photographs of your subject and move around it (even crouching down on your knees). With digital, you don’t have to worry about film expense like the old days. Sometimes it can take 3-5 shots to get the right angle. Have your camera on burst mode and shot away!
