How did you find out about LivingInHD.com?
I heard about the Unsell Family's winnings on a homeschool message board that we both participated in.
I became intrigued, looked up the site and decided to enter. When we were selected, Jennifer Unsell was
one of the first people I shared the news with.
How did you feel when you were selected as an LiHD Family?
We were so excited! My kids and I were jumping up and down, giving high five's, etc. Then I
called my husband at work, and he told us it was probably a hoax! Once he was convinced it
was real, he was excited, too!
We were even more thrilled a few months later when Panasonic selected our family to attend the
2008 Olympics in Beijing. It was just an incredible blessing to our family, and we enjoyed using
our new equipment to capture all of our memories. It was also great to have an outpouring of
well-wishes and support from the LiHD community.

What is your favorite photo of your currently uploaded photos here on the site?
It is really hard to choose because we have taken SO MANY photos in the last two years. I had to choose this one from the Olympics, though, because I just love the colors and the confetti in the air. It just says "Celebration!" to me and makes me feel happy when I look at it.
What are some photography/videography tips you’d like to give to the community?
Try unusual angles and don't be afraid to get in close. Sometimes the underside of a flower can be just
as interesting as the top. Take pictures outside when it's overcast, and then you won't have to worry about
shadows or “sun squints." When taking pictures of events, let your photos tell a story. Don't just take a
picture of the finished birthday cake, snap pictures of the mess you made creating it. Make close-ups
of the invitation and party favors.
What have you gained from this site?
I get inspired seeing the videos and photos from other site members, and I learn a lot from the webinars.
I've also gained several good friends from all across the country.
