How did you find out about LivingInHD.com?

Art actually saw a pop-up while he was at work one day. He emailed me the link and asked me to write the essay to enter the contest. Not thinking that wte had a chance in the world and also being in a whirl of busyness, I typed up a sassy essay and sent it off. After we found out that we won, my family asked to see what I had typed up. Reluctantly, I showed them the quite sarcastic essay that I didn't even think anyone would really read. My essay had expressed my quirky feelings of being an under appreciated, hard working mom/wife. I simply thought I was getting things off my chest. I thought I'd send it out into the web-world, never to be seen again and I'd feel better in the process. Well, they liked it and like Lucy... I had some 'splainin' to do. Fortunately, my family forgave and forget quickly when they seen what this mama won them. It was a win-win.

What is your favorite photo out of your currently uploaded photos here on the site?

Wow, what a question! It's like picking your favorite kid or something, haha! I'd have to say I love the 'Birds in a Grapevine' photo. I found myself getting 'yelled' at by this bird every time I would go out to the garden. Finally, I figured out why. She was a mama protecting her babies. This nest was nestled in the grapevines on our fence. It was perfectly camouflaged. I really enjoyed keeping a photo diary of the process of life. It felt almost like an honor to be privy to looking inside such an event, from the three tiny blue eggs to the dainty little beaks chirping away. What a joy!

What are some photography tips you'd like to give to the community?

Shoot away! Back in the day when we shot on film, we had to be selective and really try to set up the shot. Wow, do I sound old? We are so fortunate to live in the digital age. The more pictures you take, the better your chances are for that perfect photo. Also, study other photos. Be aware of the composition and lighting and get creative. Think outside the box! Play with angles, don't just do the ordinary. Read the Tip of the Day and learn how to take pictures from the Pros. With LiHD, we have access to free photo classes, webinars and so much more...Check it out!

How did you feel when you first heard that you were part of the LiHD Family program?

Overwhelmed quickly turned into overjoyed. We didn't really believe it until the pallet of Panasonic products showed up at the door. I love to tell our Panasonic LiHD story. I still have to pinch myself sometimes. We are so very thankful!

What have you gained from this site?

We have gained so much from the LiHD site - a plethora of knowledge, insight and even relationships. The knowledge is priceless. Between the free photo classes, webinars and access to the Pros, we are so fortunate. It has also been wonderful to interact with other LiHD members through the forums and such. I love browsing through their photos and getting ideas. As an avid Facebook user, I also love that LiHD is linked with it. I've made friends through the LiHD community, it's been a blast. This program has also afforded us to host many events at our home with friends and family that we might not have been able to. We have heard, "Let's have it at the Panasonic house" alot the last couple of years. It has been a pleasure to be a part of this program. We are forever grateful to Panasonic.
