Figured if I started this, maybe I'd get some great movie recs for the summer. I've seen two recently that I'm looking very forward to seeing again "at home" instead of in theaters: Angels and Demons (with Tom Hanks) and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past ... I truly enjoyed them both and will enjoy them far more at home!

Great idea for a thread! I rarely get to go to the movies, so I am probably going to want to see the new Star Trek movie when it comes out on DVD.

Hey Karen ... I haven't seen it, but I heard it was great and to expect to laugh. How long does it generally take from to the theater to dvd at home? I'm sorry, but these days I much prefer viewing at home to visiting the movie theater.

Great idea! Something I have noticed, they have converted a lot of the older movies to Blu_Ray. I would still purchase DVDs since they can be used in Blu-Ray player and they look even better. The deals are out there now too for DVDs. I know any new releases are coming out in Blu-Ray, but are they still offering DVD format? For movies already out on DVD that are being converted, I know Disney gives you two; one DVD (free) and the Blu-Ray. I don't know about new releases though. Since so many have not converted, I would think they would offer DVD, but have not paid attention.

There will be tons of stuff out this summer! I have "movie marathons" some weekends - just watching them and living off popcorn. It's a great way to avoid a very hot day. Ugh, those hot days are knocking on the door. What's some great old comedies to watch? I've seen most of the well known stuff but I'm sure there's some stuff I've missed.

Man, I missed the name of it but I saw a commercial for one tonight I can't wait to see with Sandra Bullock and Betty White. I'll bet that will be an absolute scream! Anyone know the name of that one?? I want to add it to my list.

Me, too, that looks hilarious! It think it might be called The Proposal?

That new John Travolta movie looks "wow". I'll definitely support the cause when that thing hits the shelves!
