Hey all ... I was thinking about putting together a coffee table styled photo book about my dogs to take places with me where a computer can't be accessed for people to see, learn about them, etc. I've never created a photo book and this would require quite a bit of custom work so I'm sure I'd save money doing it myself. If you have, how dod you do it? Special software? Thanks!

Yes, we have created several photobooks. I have used both Shutterfly and blurb and have tried out several others when I was trying to compare software features. Blurb is by far the most economical. We have done several in a little business Rebecca (my 16yo daughter) and I started (you can see them here), and several family books (here). It really isn't hard, and it's a lot of fun. It helps if you have traditional scrapbooking experience, but it's certainly not a necessity. Blurb has a tutorial that makes it pretty easy. By the way, if anybody is interested in having our little business (www.funfolios.com) do an album for you, let me know! We are very cheap compared to the competition.

I used SHutterfly and they are strudy, good quality, easy to use do it yourself scrappages, and placement. You decide how many photos go on each page, what you write on the front and back and even on the binder. SHutterfly also has excellent customer service too. Which is a plus in my book
