I'm sure they're will be great fireworks displays around the country on the 4th. I've heard news reports of some smaller communities scaling back or completely cancelling their big events this year - due to ecomonic concerns. I live in one of those small towns. They don't feel, when they are having to lay people out of jobs, they should be spending money on stuff they define as less necessary. City ordinances disallow fireworks for individuals - and with the dry, arrid that is Texas summer, I dare not take chances.

So, I'm hoping I can share fireworks with some of my LiHD friends! Ya'll pack your cameras, please!

Sounds like a plan!  Going to be 99 tomorrow and 100 on Saturday here in SC.  July 4 many people have fireworks displays as they are legal here in SC.  The only place I want to be is inside if it is too hot!

ROFL! Oh, I'm so with y'all there! It's gotten so hot here that I make plans only for indoor events. If it's outside - it can happen without me!

Definitely don't melt!

been watering my St. Augustine grass 3 or 4 times a day & it's looking & feeling good...

We'll be spending the 4th of July (evening, anyhow) at my brother's house.  It's in an historic downtown district, and we'll be able to sit on his back porch and watch the fireworks the town will be putting on across the highway at the lake.  Family, food, fun,  - and best of all - no parking problems.

Also, we're probably going to take a trip down to SC to buy "real" fireworks to set off in the street.  We'll be taking pics, of course.  Does anyone have a good way to photograph fireworks? Do I need to put the camera on a lower "shutter" speed, or . . .  I have no idea.  Any help is appreciated!

I found a few tips that I'm going to put into play and maybe I'll have some luck this year!  I learned some stuff ... course, that's not saying much:
