I just hate the fact that my cable company charges extra if you want the HD channels. There is a whole series of them, but they are the same stations that I already have, just in HD. Just another way to make $$$$$$.

I've got to say: the longer I have ATT Uverse, the more I like it. The quality is there - along with the line up. I do have an extended package, but don't get ALL the channels. They give us perks all the time, like a different free movie tier for 3 months, etc. They don't just this to attract new customers - they do this for their entire customer base. I always feel so shortchanged with a company I've supported offers a perk to "new members" and forgets their current ones. I mean, that's punishing those that have opted to support them. And another thing ... ::: laughs ::: Seriously, I bundled our internet connection with our cable when we made the changes months and months ago and got a screaming speed service. I've always thought there was a bunch of hoopla to that stuff but I learned my lesson on that. While at my parents and friends' homes in the past few months, using their cable/dsl, I've felt like I was on dial up! And don't get me started on this free DVR that I've negated and left sitting unused until recently. Wow, what a gift that thing's been since I bothered to start using it! Uverse isn't everywhere yet, but if you're waiting for more - or a change - keep an eye out for it. A big thumbs up!

I only have the one choice in cable companies, but I do have my internet, phone and cable with them. The only problem is when the internet connection goes, so does the phone so you can't call in to report it. I was able to get a lower rate for 6 months on my phone. They've been advertising some bargains for new customers so I called and asked for the same deal and they gave me the lower rate for the phone. It's not right that loyal customers shouldnt get deals now and then.

Ohmy, that's got to be a nightmare! You can't even call in to complain. I totally agree with you that loyal customers should get at least the same rewards new customers are teased with. It goes way beyond "fair is fair" - it's just right. Hopefully some competition will find you soon. Simply having competition tends to make every entity more responsible.
