Movies I can't wait to see in 3D HD

As I rread about Panasonic's plan to roll out 3D HD, I am getting VERY excited about it. After seeing it in person and watching Avatar, I am hooked! Here are a few things I can't wait to see in 3DHD:

Avatar (because everything looks even better on my Panasonic TV than it does in the theater!)

Fantasia 2000- watched it on DVD tonight- the flying whale sequences "Pines of Rome" (?) would be worth having the TV alone. I've only watched it on DVD upconverted to 1080p through my Blu-Ray player, and it looks spectacular like that!

Star Wars (the original trilogy and maybe #3...)

Planet Earth- because it looks phenomenal on Blu-Ray, and would be even more Phenomenal in 3D...

I'll add to this as I watch more movies. Now that I know that 3D HD is going to be a reality- and having seen exactly how sharp, beautiful, and clear it is- it is hard not to watch movies and imagine how cool they would be in 3D.

What about you? What movies would you like to see in 3D HD?

Star Wars (on the other hand, how many different copies of the same movie can one have?), Lord of the Rings, Watchmen, Matrix (1 and 2, they should just burn the master of the third one), perhaps the Harry Potter movies.

Older classics such as Once Upon a Time in the West would be nice, too.

I just have the feeling that if the movie wasn't shot in 3D, 'forcing' it to be 3D would make them look like View-Master pictures, just a couple of different layers. Perhaps it'd be a lot easier to convert any CGI-created material into 3D, computers should have no issues faking it.

Avatar is a definite must-watch in 3D. Also it would be interesting in watching a horror movie in 3-D, maybe like "the Crazies" (the only one i can think of right now thats going to be out in 3d)

Well, since they installed 3D suite for us yesterday, we've had a chance to watch a few minutes of "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" and "Coraline" (which I reviewed several months ago). They both look great! I can't wait for the other pair of glasses to arrive so we can watch those together.

I was very hesitant about the technology at first, but having seen it with my own eyes now, it looks really amazing. We'll have to see if 3D will stick around in Hollywood this time, I know some of the animation studios are very committed to 3D and it makes perfect sense to have those types of movies in 3D, since it's easy to manipulate computer images. Live action movies though, not so sure, I think it really depends on the genre (Schindler's List in 3D? Not so much. Saving Private Ryan? Definitely)

I'm glad your enjoying the 3D suite, I have yet to seen anything in 3D other then a few time ive gone to IMAX but i cant wait to see it!

but yea thats very true what you said, it would be a good idea for animation studios to be committed to 3D, very logical. Pearl Harbor would be another good live action movie in 3D as well

Sebastian, Since Panasonic has also comeout with ridiculously small (for 3D) cameras that are easy to use, we should see a lot more live-action stuff in 3D as well- in our regular viewing. Imagine "Planet Earth" if it were filmed in 3D (and if you don't have it on Blu-Ray, get it...It's what HD TVs were made for). With the new, easy to use cameras I think there will be plenty of content, but I agree- not everything needs to be in 3D.
