Hi, I was wondering what is the basic equipment (filters, lenses) that is good to have with your camera. I have a panasonic dmc fz35 and I'm barely starting to look into the different filters and lenses I can use with the camera. Thanks.

Hi Delia, That is a great camera! We have an FZ18 and FZ28 and love them. We have the tele-converter for more reach and also have a neutral density filter and a polarizer. The zoom lens and ND filter are often needed for what my son and I shoot - airplanes at air shows with a slow shutter speed. The polarizer is just cool! Honestly though, that camera doesn't really need anything except exercise! Tim

Thanks, true. I'm using whatever time I have to take pictures of nature, landscapes, and of course my kids. I'll just see if I need anything extra with the more pictures I take.

I use a UV filter on every lense I own to protect it. The idea being that the inexpensive filter gets scratched or damaged not the actual lense itself. Other than that the accesories may depend more on the type of photography you like to do. A Macro lense is great for those who like closeup photos, a telephoto may be useful for shooting at a distance, let's say the grandstand of a baseball game and other lenses serve other functions. When I can, I like to use a tripod and I also have a speedlight for better flash photography.

Right now I have a small HD camcorder, so the best accessory I have is the wrist strap that came with it :P not to advanced but saved the camera a few times while hanging from the back of a truck on the streets of Haiti!

Hey there!! I also use the FZ35. I have the adaptor tube needed to step up from 46 to 55 mm. I use +1 +2 and x4 macro lenses, x2 x4 and x8 Neutral Density filters to soften water shots like water falls and rivers and to get any long exposures I want in the day, a circular polarizer for landscapes and those super bright days, a infared filter for amazing contrast B&W photos, and finally a graduated grey neutral density filter to make sunsets more vibrant and colorful :)
