Love these new groups and of course being a Pet Lover extraordinaire, I can see me spending lots of time here as a pet owner, there is always something new they seem to surprise us with no matter the age. My two cats love to hang out in one of my closets which is a walk-in, and also in my office. They like to hang out on the top shelves and will jump across from one side to the other. I know, a perfect media event, and a video would probably show off this activity best. With that all said, today they found a new sleeping place inside a basket in the closet and both were side by side and looking up at me as if to say, what is so strange about our new napping quarters! I must admit these antics would be much better with some visual effects. So what did you pet do today!

I love cats but my husband doesn't so I get to have barn carts only. Funny thing though, when we moved here, there were already 5 cats here and they all had 6 toes. WEIRD. I'm sure they're all inbred but they are very loving cats who just hang around outside the house and at the barn. My toddler loves them. Anyways, this morning while I was watering the patio plants, I kept hearing this noise like a cat meowing but it sounded different. After looking around for a minute, I found the cat in the barbecue pit!! I'm thinking the lid was up and maybe must have fallen down on him. Poor thing!! He's okay and all but I bet he doesn't get back on there! I'm loving the new groups too!! Since I don't have HD, it was hard for me to engage in conversations in the other groups!

Woke us up at 5:20am tearing through the house trying to free himself from a paper bag. Jinx stuck his head and 1 paw through one loop on the handle of a paper bag filled with about 200 golf tees sitting on the kitchen counter. Spooked by the awful sound (glass shattering) as he hit the floor attached to the bag of tees he tore through the house trying to free himself. As part of the bag finally tore away golf tees were dispersed throughout the entire house like projectiles. We found him in my daughter's room shaking with the handle and about 1/3 of the bag still attached. Needless to say it has been a quiet afternoon while he sleeps regaining his strength to torment us again tomorrow morning. Wish we could have filmed this mess! What a wake up call! JInx is lucky that he is so cute and lovable or he would be on a slow boat back to Ukraine!

We had a lab/terrier mix puppy who got over the kiddie gate one day. We heard whimpering in the other room and went to check on him. He had gotten his head stuck in an empty popcorn bag and was just sitting there... this popcorn bag with legs. If only we had a camera then!

Well my pets haven't done anything crazy today so I thought I'd just upload I'd slideshow. For some reason the captions on this show are not correct. After I uploaded the pics I went back and changed the captions, but they do not appear changed in this show, even though I made the show after I fixed the ca[tions. Anyone else ever had that problem? BTW great forum. It's a lot of fun to hear everyone's pet stories.

I've been contributing to animal organizations for years. The past year or so, I'm getting more and more requests for contributions - even every month or so. I send a little if I can afford it because they send me labels, notepads, cards, etc. It's gotta be tough for them, too with the economy the way it is.

I'm actually just getting home so my pack has only mauled me a welcome home. They are rather bushed from all the excitement. I have, however, just finished spending a couple of weeks with my parents - getting my Mom's new pet, Sassy the Yorkie, set up and comfortable. Now, you all have to understand, when this little "princess" was flown in from South Dakota, she was dressed in a pink dress and arrived in a pepto bismol pink crate. She was so timid and shy that she feared her own shadow. I watched her, over the course of two weeks, bloom into a "dog". She now trees coons, cats and squirrels all day. Loves the great outdoors and pants (banish the thought). She's run so much - just sprinting around the yard - that she's lost 1.5 lbs. She only weighed 6.5 to begin with! This is what a happy dog looks like:

Adorable, as long as she doesn't tree your Mother everything should be fine.

Now that's security!! Good boy, Buddy! You know, I remember when I was a kid, there was a security plan available and the alarm was actually the sound of dogs barking. It'd sound like it was coming from inside the house. One of my dogs ... and my husband, are out this weekend running a field competition. I hope to get some photos ... points ... ribbons. LOL A great weekend, pet lovers!
