... This is my youngest lab, Dixie. She thinks the ice and water in the door was put there just for her convenience. Here's one of her less polished attempts. This particular day, I'd applied the lock - because I got really tired of picking up pieces of ice and splashed water everyday. The lesson learned was mine ... soon after I stopped videoing, she tore the guts out of the dispenser and we ended up having to get a whole new frig. I no longer lock her out. ;x  Today, about 6 months later, she can lock and unlock it herself and even select between crushed and whole ice. I refer to her among friends as my penance.

I have one somewhere around here of a recent incident where I caught her trying to catch the fish in my fish tank. Seems she's been crawling up on the hearth to get her head under the light on the tank and sticking her head in the water. I think all I got the other day was a still shot of her head under the water with the "busted" look on her face - looking right at me and the camera.

I have five of these angels: a 5 year old chocolate lab male (Tex), a 4 year old chocolate female (Rebel), a 4 year old yellow female (Star), a two year old yellow (Bull) and you've met Dixie, a 1 year old chocolate lab. Then, Holly, the 6 year old miniature schnauzer who leads the pack.

That's incredible! Two of our pack love icecubes - but fortunately our icemaker is inside the freezer.  But whenever I go to get some for myself, I have to get 2 extras for my buddies.  Also, I have to put a cube in the big (10 gallon) water dish for the cats to play with. It's a circus in my house.

LOL! Bless you, Linda. I guess it's true "if you have more than one dog, you live in a pack". I think when I replace this frig, I'm going to look for one like your's - with the internal only ice maker. This is not something that we taught her to do - she's monkey see.

Of course, we didn't teach Miss Rebel, our other chocolate female, to turn on the water in the tub either, but that didn't keep her from learning. Her lessons, however, did not extend to turning it off. As we sat in the office at our previous house, I thought my husband was nuts when he asked me to turn around and tell if if that looked like water dripping from the living room ceiling. It left me "in position" to watch the second story masterbath tub come tumbling down to the first story living room.

Leave the ice maker inside - why don't they learn things like how to wash, dry and fold the many towels required to raise them? Why am I always dumb enough to think "it's a cute trick" ... oh nevermind. Obviously I'll never catch on.
