Hi, So Rw2 (the raw format on the Lumix G series) is a bit unique as in, it's not recognized by a lot of apps. especially on the mac. Which software have you all be using to manage your rw2 files? Thanks -E

I've been using Adobe Lightroom with no problems at all. However we have PC's so I can't comment on mac editing. Tim

Nice. I love how Apple/MAC was light years ahead of PC in envisioning a life in HD. Back in 1995 I experienced life in HD on Apple hardware (desktop) and no PC can match it still so keep the Apple/MAC flag flying high my friends and I'll be reading so I can keep my Mac knowledge current. Anyone running full Apple/MAC OS software on a Panasonic TOUGHBOOK? My TOUGHBOOK is running Win XP SP 3 and the only Apple software right now is of course iTunes but I plan on adding Apple hardware to my VIERA LAN and WLAN, has anyone already done that using Bonjour/iTunes and other Apple hardware/protocols etc? I am a lil rusty on all the new new Apple software so if you are a Apple/MAC expert, please message me/add me. I'm a PC and the Apple iMAC was my idea LOL. Go Steve Jobs! Anyone using an ipod (any of them) for media beyond music? My shuffle is primarily music and music videos but with Panasonic VIERA I'm curious about the full ipod media experience (podcasts and video, especially from MIT or movies from WarnerBros) on Apple/MAC using Panasonic LiHD VIERA Home Theater gear. Mazel Tov! I have the LUMIX G1 and I'm beginner with it. It is the only camera I will ever upgrade LOL. I LOVE IT! Wish I had one in high school instead of a Canon 35mm. When I get the skill level (eventually, with your help!) I'll be able to do a lot more advanced projects faster. Thanks in advance friends, this is a great thread!

So exciting news... Apple released Aperture 3 this week, and I've been playign with it..and I love it. I'm updating all my iphoto libraries as we speak. However, I'm a bit disappointed... unless I missed something.. but I'm confused. 1. They claim to now support the G1 for RAW. See us on the right?... but alas, when i try to import my RW2 files...they all seem to be black..what's up with that. they preview fine..but ...i dunno. maybe i should try again. 2. They don't mention .RW2 files...in their supported file formats. Anyone else tried it? or want to? they have a 30 day trial on their page. If it works for you..please let me know, I have been storing my lovely 12GB of .RW2 files for the longest.. and have nowhere to use them. Or is there a way to make the G1 shoot in another Raw format? Help..anyone....please... I have really nice pictures I promise.. but I cant see em :( (except as compressed jpgs of course...which is not an acceptable trade) thanks -E

I found some references to this problem here I expect Apple will get it sorted out at some point but I don't have a MAC or use Aperture so that's about all I'm good for! good luck! Tim

RW2 is indirectly supported in CS3. Adobe offers a free download that can convert it to a DNG file, and CS3 supports DNG. So many people are getting interested in using the RW2 "raw" format, but I am not seeing any mention of two very important related issues. When converting from RW2 to any other format you need to choose the color space you will be working in. In 99% of the cases you should choose sRGB. While Adobe RGB offers a slightly wider color pallett, most monitors and printers cannot display the colors properly. Second, in order to make any color adjustments your monitor / system needs to be color caliberated. Otherwise, what you "see" is not necessarily what others will see and the printed version will not look like the image you intended it to be. These two errors are responsible for so many disappoints digital photographers experience.
