I find that between my hectic schedule and writer's block, I have a hard time keeping my blog up to date.  What are some ideas you have on stirring the ideas around?

I tend to have more "blogging material" than I know what to do with...but in the rare occasion that I can't come up with a fresh idea, I use a memory.  We all have a story to share,  and many of my readers haven't known me for the duration of my life.  I think sharing memories even silly or insignificant helps you connect to your readers. Flashback to things like:  your most embarrassing middle school moment, when you first fell in love, how you would have killed for a NKOTB sleeping bag, or how your brother froze your underwear at your first slumber party.

Chances are, sharing a memory will get your brain jump started and you'll have ideas out the wazoo to blog about!

Hope that helps a little, Kate!

Thanks so much!  See the problem is, my personal blog now serves more towards the internet/social media topics and it can be hard with all of the other GREAT content out there to not feel like my writing my be up to par.  Oh man if it were just a personal blog about anything that crossed my mind, it'd be FILLED! :-P

Good grief...If I had to compete with the experts and quality content on "real world" topics I'd be up a creek!

However, I'm sure you have lots to contribute that we can all benefit from, Kate.  Hang in there.  Inspiration is right around the corner!

I always use photos as a jumping-off point on my blog.  If I don't have a photo or video, then I usually don't write.  So I'm constantly looking through my photos for something to blog about.  If I want to blog about something and don't have a photo - I take one!  I guess all that to say - photos and videos inspire me - I guess that's why we ended up an LiHD family.  Try looking through all the photos on here for inspiration about something to write about.

Thanks!  Yeah I found myself writing a bit more lately.  Not as much as I would like but certainly more than before!  Yay!

Yeah, it's soooo hard! I don't know how some people do it.  I'm betting ghost bloggers for many bigger ones?

I'm strange! I have a techy blog and it's easy for me to come up with that sort of stuff, but when I sit down and try to think about something "personal" I usually draw a blank! I am not sure where to start. I have 2 sets of twins, but unless i sit down and make a note of whatever "cute" thing that they did immediately, with 3 others running around, it all becomes a big blur and I forget! LOL!! But I always write about their accomplishments at school, etc. I am trying to do better about keeping a notepad or something nearby to jot down ideas.

Keeping fresh content is one reason (besides making a little $$) that I do some sponsored posts. I only except those that fit in with the niche of my blog, and I put my own spin on them, but it insures that I always have something to write about.
