I'm about to amend my TV season DVD collection with the final Boston Legals. Man, I'm sure going to miss that show. I'm curious to see how many people purchase previous seasons of television series. I have a habit of waiting til they "retire" before I take the plunge.

It'd be wonderful if you could get complete collections of classic TV shows, like Johnny Carson, etc. I've been real disappointed with my purchases of things like that as they only seem to include a few clips. Of course they are good clips, but it'd be great to have full shows. I'd dedicate an entire shelf for that!

There are some I would buy.  I really liked NYPD Blue but they only put the the first four seasons on DVD and would buy seasons 5-12, but don't know if it will ever be done.  Boston Legal also a favorite.  I probably too would wait and see if they start putting the Television seasons on Blu-ray.

We bought the complete collection of M*A*S*H which I love.  Shortly afterward my husband purchased the entire Grand Ol Opry collection of when the opry was at the Ryman Theater years ago. Needless to say, I endured torture beyond your imagination. Glad he eventually grew bored with it and moved on to something else.

I love MASH! That might be worse the investment now and if comes out on BluRay later, get it then again. Course, by then we'll have GreenRay or something totally different.

Ohmy, I'd hide those Grand Ol Opry dvds. Subjecting you to those has got to be grounds for a fault divorce. I think if I have to watch one more western around here today, I'm going to go buy myself a David Yurman bracelet as a token of underappreciation.

I used to tape a whole lot of things, like the whole first year of West Wing and most of Miami Vice.  I then found an online tape trading group where people would trade you things they taped, too.  I've since purchased a number of things either at the store or online to get a collection of a show that I liked.  It's great to go back and see things that are older, but I'm afraid the techology will go out and I wont be able to watch my old tapes or be forced to buy DVD's.  Some are very precious, like the last show of St. Elsewhere, etc.

Oh, now that's a wonderful thing! I never thought of a group kind of arrangement, but it's definitely brilliant.

I'm going to research this some and see if I can't find some Boston Legalites that do the same thing. I'd be glad to share my first three seasons to review some of the later ones.

Thanks for the great idea!

That is a great idea if you can find someone to trade.  DVD still looks great on Blu-Ray so not a problem and less expensive.  Hope  you find those Boston LegalitesCool

We used to buy some but now we pretty much rent them from the library.  Collection gets so large you run out of space to store them.  Just waiting for libraries to start ordering blu-ray.  In the meantime our Panasonic blu-ray player improves the quality of standard dvds. This is a big plus.  Other than a few must haves this is the route we now go.
