Has anyone ever used BD live? If so, what's your experience?

I've not gotten much into it, but I have used it once to update my facebook on Crank 2 High Voltage, although they dubbed it LG (Lionsgate) Live.

I've used the BD live features and I'd say they're a mixed bag. Some movies have great extra features (Watchmen did a watch-along with the director thing that looked great, but I didn't get to see it- I don't own it (yet)). Some of the movies are not terribly exciting and it often takes a long time for the BD live to load (despite a fast connection). Lately, I have been having trouble with Disney DVDs. I have never been able to get my Wall-E BD Live features to work, and the UP features look like they're loading, but they never do. I think it is a fantastic idea, but it seems like the studios may have rolled out the features before they were really ready to. I look forward to watching it develop and I'll keep trying it. Is anyone else having difficulty with their Disney discs? I have a Panasonic Blu-Ray player (Thanks Panasonic!!!)

I always use BD LIVE for custom commentary on The Dark Knight. It's awesome.

That's really good to know. Overall seems it needs to be improved.. wonder if an improvement in functionality (an update) down the line can be downloaded to the Blu-Ray plrayer or if it's individual to each Blu-Ray disc and their creators.

No don't feel silly! I didn't know what it was until I got a Blu-Ray player myself. I looked up the proper terms to describe it since I don't really use it myself: Normally when you buy a dvd, it comes with a certain amount of extra features, some good some bad. Either way you only have what’s on the disc when you first buy the movie, nothing more. But with an internet connected BD Live Player, your movie is able to add features beyond what came with the disc, and for you to participate in adding features to the movie.
