It's been a blast!  I'm able to not only watch my instant-viewing Netflix movies on my TV (not bad quality even though it's not quite HD) and also if I want to work on my TV for the day, I always can.  All you have to do is buy a couple cables (depending on which laptop you have) and voila, you are usually set.  Anyone ever done this?

Yep! We have a laptop that gets hooked up to our TV sometimes, for Netflix videos (currently watching the 'Dead Like Me' TV-series), but also because it has a built-in BluRay player. It's great that 1 HDMI cable carries both HDTV and Dolby 5.1 sound.

Our older HDTV (non-Panasonic) only has 1 HDMI input so I had to buy an HDMI switch to switch between the DVR signal and the laptop signal.

Whoo hoo!  Glad to see someone else utilizing this cool feature.

Here's Evan telling how we did it.  We use it all the time.

I do this all the time. Forget DVR, I just hook up my laptop and go to the show's website or hulu and watch right from there. It's also nice for renting movies and watching them on the big screen. I'm even at the point where I can do this with my phone and watch things from my phone on my TV. Talk about cool technology. (Yes, I realize I'm a bit of a techie geek and I'm ok with it)

Yea i do this all the time as well. Like Josh said, i watch tv shows and movies on my plasma from various different sites using the image and sound from my labtop. The HDMI cable does wonders for me too providing both the sound and image
