Was perusing the available Blackberry apps when I saw this one and figured I'd share it.  Anyone ever heard of it?  It's called "pocket BLU (beta)"

Pretty cool what all this emerging technology is offering - particularly when it involves hooking your phone up to applications involving your TV:

Seems it's free and does the following:

Blu-ray™ just got a whole lot better!  Introducing pocket BLU™, the perfect application to compliment your Blu-ray™ movie watching experience.

Works with any pocket BLU™ enabled Blu-ray™ disc (including Bruno, Inglourious Basterds, Funny People, Public Enemies, and more), together with a PS3™ or other Internet-connected Blu-ray™ player.

pocket BLU™ works seamlessly with your network connected Blu-ray™ player over Wi-Fi, and offers the following nifty components:
- Remote control - operates all on disc features (Playback, Hierarchical menus, Chat, Registration, and Color Key functionalities).
- Timeline - a graphical timeline allowing you to instantly access any point in the movie.
- Streaming content - a cross studio content listing of available Blu-ray™ titles with bonus content (trailers, featurettes, deleted scenes, short films, etc) available for streaming.*
- Text Entry - a pop up keyboard field that makes all on-disc text entry easy and intuitive.

Hmm, interestnig, even though I have some privacy concerns, I'd have to look and see how it works. Looks one more component into a totally integrated home entertainment experience though!

What are the privacy concerns with something like this?  Just curious.  The Wifi connection?

Just not sure if I want someone to be able to access things in my home from a mobile device that could be miles away :-/ I guess that's a concern now if you use remote DVR capability on a smartphone or blackberry to your home DVR...

Oh, and you must excuse me, I worked in Information Security for years, I'm cautious by nature :)
