Here is a little video Evan and I shot describing our experiences with microphones for the GH1 and also an aluminum shoulder rig I made to improve stability while panning.
The aluminum assembly is extremely light and the push pull fittings, which I picked up at an R/C hobby store, allow for fast disconnect.
