Need help, has anyone ever seen this on a toughbook laptop? This is the screen I woke up to this morning, it will only reboot in safe mode and only with an external monitor.

Thanks again for the number. I just got off the phone with them, pretty funny bunch there. Since the computer is out of warranty it's $130 plus shipping. I told them that was ok, please send me a box. They said oh, if you need a box that's an additional $165, so I wished him a nice weekend and informed him that I will bring it to Staples on Monday. It was worth a shot.

Yikes!  I do have that same model, and I've never seen anything like that before.  Our Bluray quit about a year ago, and Panasonic fixed it at their expense.

Yikes that is an expensive fix, Best Buy or Staples might be able to diagnose the problem, then you can try fixing it yourself to cut labor costs.

Looks like a cracked monitor.  Our youngest daughter cracked hers (an HP) a few years ago by jamming it into a backpack.  We  were told that the screen was never covered under warranty.  We had another old laptop that happened to have the same size screen.  My husband took both apart and switched the screens..  It is still working today.

I think it might be a monitor or display adapter issue also, just not sure why it only reboots in safe mode. Always appreciate the input from the community, thanks guys!

Just to let everyone know, Panasonic has stepped up to the plate (AGAIN) and agreed to help me with the repair of the Toughbook. Thank you Panasonic and everyone else for their input.
