Anybody with the 3D video camera out there doing any editing, and if so, what do you edit with. Does it automatically keep sync, any problems. Just curious, was just at an event and noticed the kid next to me shooting it in 3D with the Panasonic 3D camera. Started wondering about the whole "post production" workflow.

I have just started to play around with some editing, using the HD Writer AE software that came with the camera, as well as Roxio 10 which supports 3D AVCHD format. It works just like any other video editing software, but I actually just hopped on to this board to ask a related question, maybe someone who's had more time than me to play around with this can answer this. Friends of mine (recently joined the community as TheMaka, go say Hi), borrowed our 3D camcorder to take some footage recently. Then they asked me to convert it to 2D so they could watch it on their own TV. While the HD Writer software allows me to do so (Roxio does not, unless I missed something), it converts the HD 3D video to standard def 2D video, 720x480 resolution, which seems a bit of a waste. I understand that the conversion process cuts the HD resolution of the left and right image in half, but was wondering if there is any way to get a higher res 2D result.

I've done some editing with the included HD Writer AE and also with Adobe Premiere Elements. You're limited in some ways but you can still get a lot done. I'm sure there will be plenty of 3D editing software hitting the market soon. I'm not aware of any other way to turn 3D into 2D at the moment. Sorry.

Wished I had seen this sooner. As Tim said, I doubt that would exist EXCEPT if your software SUPPORTS ALL the standards your HARDWARE does. If you mix and match hardware and standards then the lowest common denominator (You Tube) is the result. Start with AVCHD SDHC and 2D or 3D is really up to you. Until I see YouTube Marketing 3D instead of burying in steps in feature sets in the help pages then, I'd be concerned. So enjoy LiHD (vimeo, others). I have seen some 3D threads here that show pure 3D video sites (for all) I would start there. When you have a forward thinking standard bearer like VEVO (Panasonic in this case) then YouTube (you get it now!) will just have to "ketchup"! Anyone recall that ad? or the joke it was based on? How do you make ketchup? vs. what did the _____
