Which movie do you think will win the Oscar for Best Movie:

Black Swan
Fighter
Inception
The Kids Are All Right
The King's Speech
127 Hours
The Social Network
Toy Story 3
True Grit
Winter's Bone

Many wonderful picks in the bunch.  Toy Story 3 would be my first choice but animated films rarely ever get the recognition they should. Of the top picks my personal favorite would have to be Social Network.

The Kings speach will do very well, and could get best picture.  Really outstanding.  For me Restrepo, in the feature length Documentary is the Best Picture.

Excellent choice for documentary.  My personal favorite in that category  is  "Exit Through The Gift Shop".   It is nice to see that there are so many wonderful choices this year.    It is always fun to watch and try to predict the winners.

You know I watched "exit through the gift shop" after the noms came out, and for the life of me, I could not figure out how it got nominated.  I mean it was interesting, and had a unique twist with the film in a film concept.  But it wasn't really game changing.  Interesting to see how he changed from an observer to a participant, to the focus of the film though.

I would like to see True Grit or The King's Speech  win for best picture.     Colin Firth .  he's overdue.....best actor........Although I liked Social Network and it tells a good nerdy story, the other movies are more compelling as original with great performances by the actors.   I be watching in 2D tomorrow night.  I can't get myself to go to Black Swan -too dark.......

I agree with you on Black Swan.  True Grit was another wonderful movie.

My guess is that Colin Firth will get the Best Actor award, and that, with 10 candidates, the vote for Best Picture may be fragmented enough that something unexpected may get the win.  I haven't seen many of the nominees this year - the quality and convenience of my home theater tends to keep me from subjecting myself to the ordeal of going out to the movies:  commercials, chatty people, overpriced tickets, more commercials.....  and I tend to wait a while even after movies are released on DVD.  I'm generally part of the increase in revenue after the awards have all been given out.

We prefer to watch most movies from the comfort of our own home also.  Rarely go to the theater unless it is a block buster release.  Home theater is so much better.

No real surprises.  Happy to see that Toy Story 3 won for best animation.

I went and saw The King's Speech at noon yesterday actually, and I think the Oscar for Best Picture is well-deserved, it was an excellent movie. Much more deserving than The Hurt Locker last year. I know Colin Firth's been acting for quite some time, and he was fantastic in The King's Speech, so glad to see that. I do have to admit I kept wondering if Snape was going to make an appearace during that movie (lot of Harry Potter actors kept showing up)...

I also saw Toy Story 3 over the weekend, and it was so sad! I do hear people were upset that How To Train Your Dragon didn't get best Animated Picture butI haven't seen that one yet so I can't comment.
