With the theatrical re-release of Avatar, it makes me wonder- What movies would inspire you to make the leap to a 3D tv? Avatar is by far one of the most amazing examples of what can be done with the medium- giving a depth and richness to the movie that even the beautiful High Definition picture on my Panasonic Plasma can't match. There are only a few titles currently available, but more are on the way (we're looking forward to "How to Train Your Dragon"- definitely worth seeing and even better in 3D!). James Cameron announced that he wants to go back and re-do "Titanic" in 3D... What movies are you looking forward to? What movie would you be interested (or just intrigued) at being converted to 3D?

The original Star Wars trilogy. And I am sure Lucas is already considering doing just that, anything he can do to milk out that franchise some more is fair game :) As for upcoming movies, if the World of Warcraft movie is still being developed, I would love to see that in 3D, Lok'Tar Ogar!

OOOOH The Hobbit would be great in 3D. I would love to see Star Wars in 3D (at least the original trilogy...the new ones I can give or take...) and in response to out illustrious LiHD team leader, yes, Star Wars is awesome! We make our boys watch them in the proper order (4,5,6 then 1,2,3...).

Yes, Star Wars is Good, I find it difficult to rave about Star Wars (even though I've been an enormous fan since the early 80s), simply because as movies, they're mediocre. As entertainment, however, they're a legitimate phenomenon that has entered popular culture and embedded itself in life across the globe. Everyone will know what you mean when you say 'May the Force be with you' regardless of age or demographic. Everyone knows who Luke's father is (but I won't spoil the surprise), pretty amazing for a 1980 movie. When you think about where movie technology was in the 70s, and then watch Star Wars (from 1977), it will hit you. Even now, watching the opening scene of Star Wars on a large screen with surround sound will blow you away. So, in short, yes, watch it, in the right order: Star Wars (A New Hope), the Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and then the other 3 if you really must, it doesn't really matter what order, they're just fillers Of course, the versions that are available now are no longer the original theatrical releases (and Lucas has indicated that when the original trilogy will be released on BluRay next year, they will be the re-engineered version, you know, where Greedo shoots first ), so the special effects have been polished up a little, and some of the scenes are slightly different, but yeah, see it anyway. In the meantime, I heard that Guillermo Del Toro and James Cameron are working on a 3D version of HP Lovecraft's "At the Mountains of Madness". I'm a huge Lovecraft fan (wrote my Master's Thesis on him), so I'd love to see a Lovecraft movie that isn't horrible. The premise is promising, the fact that it takes place at the South Pole with lots of mountains is also promising from a 3D perspective.

Maybe on the BluRays of Star Wars Han will shoot first again (and order will once again be restored to the universe...). A Lovecraft movie and Benicio Del Toro sound like a great combination!
