Hello RemixCitizens, (that is you!)
As we all know by now, especialy NBA fans, Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA) scored a trifecta that has stirred up the press and fans all over the country.
The County even officially renamed Wade County (instead of Miami-Dade County) for a week. Dwayne Wade is royalty down here because of his well documented efforts on the court and his philanthropic efforts with Alonso Mourning (aka Zo) for Zo's Summer Groove, a major community building event that is becoming an alliance for change that grows every year, it's incredible.
During the Red Bull Flugtag Miami 2010 I took the liberty - especially because it was a beautiful Miami Saturday - to not only take photos and video of the Flugtag but of certain Miami landmarks (buildings and public art) in a way that didn't reflect population. The subjects have no people in or around them to clutter the view. My vibe was even in a crowd you can be alone in an urban space, and Miami is known for people being all over Downtown especially in the day. A ghost town that exists only in pictures. While I snapped these thousands of people were in the area and I have some shots of the crowd as we did one of the biggest crowd waves of all time at the Flugtag.
After the Flugtag I took my self portrait and fanned out to shoot some of the condos that tower over the city now. As a grand finale I took the Metro Rail southbound so I could try taking a sunset from a moving train, something I hope to do on a global scale, scenes from moving trains.
The Miami Heat home court is at the American Airlines Arena, a LEED Certified masterpiece of architecture, a subject I love as a hobby because I'm addicted to design.
The "triple A" as we locals dub it has a large LCD screen that projects upcoming events, advertisements and NBA messages, this works for pedestrians and drivers stuck in traffic. Here is one of the messages of several that I snapped on July 10, 2010, the day of the Flugtag.
