    Hometown Parade

    Monday, December 13, 2010, 2:45 AM
    Categories: Photo

Last weekend our town had our 27th Annual Granada Hills Holiday Parade. This was the 2nd year that no one in our family was in the parade, so we could just sit down, relax and watch it. There is something about hometown parades that are so cool. The creativity, the pride and the community spirit make it more fun than other huge parades like the Hollywood Christmas Parade and the Rose Parade.

You know people in the hometown parades. You associate with the clubs, vendors, high school bands, girl and boy scouts, churches and associations, so it feels like a more personal experience. Ever since we moved here 13 years ago, we have participated in this parade.

If you've never had a chance to experience your own hometown parade, I highly recommend it. If your town doesn't have a parade, maybe you should rally about getting one. Everyone likes to be a celebrity for a day!

    Happy Holidays!

    Doritos Commercial Shoot Entries

    Friday, November 26, 2010, 3:52 PM

Hey Everybody, Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving!

I just uploaded 45 photos from my Directorial Debut of a Commercial entry for the Crash the Superbowl Contest.

I co-Directed with Buz Wallick (Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy Documentary) I had worked with Buz earlier this year on a project he Directed called WAX OFF, a short based on the death of David Carradine in Bangkok in 2009, that film was an action/comedy Starring Joe Pilato (George Romero's Day of the Dead fame) where I starred as an Evil Ninja Lord "Li Kong". It was well received at a screening last month and will head next to the festival film circuit. We hope to do a feature with these characters next year.

    Back to the Doritos Commercial...

We Filmed at Harpers Bar & Grill in Tarzana California on Veterans day during an overnight shoot. We went from Concept to Production in 9 days and Concept to Upload in 13 days!

It is a 30 second spot using "Approved" Music provided.

We have 2 entries, one with an alternate ending, so far after 10 days we are in the Top 25 most views and getting some great comments. It was professionally filmed and edited. I was going to use my Panasonic HD camcorder, but we had access to a Sony X1 and Boom mic and went with that. The pics were mostly taken by my daughter Amanda who also played one of the Doritos dancers and at a table, I doubled as the DJ for the shoot, the blurry photos were probably taken by me...

If you would like to see our finished videos please check them out here. Enjoy!

    Trunk or Treat

    Sunday, October 31, 2010, 12:23 PM
    Categories: Photo

My daughter's Girl Scout Troop participated in a community service called "Trunk or Treat". Cars line up backwards in the lot, they are decorated and then the children can "Trick or Treat" at the cars. There are also crafts, a contest and food so there is lots of things to do after they get candy. Unfortunately it started raining, so we had to wrap it up early, but the kids had plenty of time to gather candy before Mean Mr. Rain came.

Having a teenage daughter, I was watching all the cute little kids with their adorable costumes and became nostalgic of the days when I used to dress up my kidling in a princess outfit and take her out Trick or Treating. Now she just wants to hang out with her friends and get chased by Psychos at amusement parks.

We are going to be volunteering today at a charity event for CSUN's Music Therapy program. The event will be on the New York Street lot at CBS Studios where they film CSI NY. The theme is New York in Hollywood and it should be pretty fun. There will be bands, food, auction, costume parade and celebrities. Hopefully they will make enough to help with scholarships for next years budget. The Music Therapy program helps children with Autism and Downs Syndrome communicate through music. At least I get to spend a little time with my kidling on Halloween, helping out a good cause. I will post pics when I return.

Everyone Have a Happy and Safe Halloween!!Smile
