We actually live on Boone Lake (well, our neighborhood is on the lake - we don't have frontage), but this lake (S. Holston) is about 45-min. away. There are mountains and National Forest all around this one, and it's our favorite. There are lots of lakes in this area - built by the Tenn. Valley Authority years ago to provide power and control flooding. My husband's grandfather was the head engineer for dam construction in this area (this best dam engineer around, so they say).
