Since I'm trying to get a little more serious about photography, I figure it's time to start looking looking for a few mature yet functional camera bags. See, once upon a time, I stored all of my camera accessories in a diaper bag. Yes, a diaper bag. Everything touched each other in this padless diaper bag of mine. And if I went out, I just tossed my Canon and 50mm lens in my purse. So careless and unprofessional, right?
I have since upgraded to the Original Quilted *emera camera bag - the perfect solution to my unorganized camera madness. It's a pretty spacious bag which comfortably houses my Canon 30D (not pictured), Panasonic G1 and kit lens, Canon kit lens, Canon 50mm lens (not pictured), Sigma 70-300mm lens, Lightscoop, lens hoods, filters, batteries, memory cards, and chargers. Between two DSLR's, a digi cam, video cam, and laptops, we have have quite a few SD and CF memory cards laying around; all in separate cases. Whenever I need a memory card, I just dig in my camera bag and feel around until I reach a memory card.
Enter Digital FOCI's Memory Card Travel Case. The Memory Card Travel Case is a small aluminum case with molded hard rubber slots on the inside. The stackable slots are cut so that you can snap in as many as eight different memory card types. The following memory cards are supported: CF I/II, MD, SM, MMC, SD, miniSD, MS, MS Duo, and xD card.
What I could find of our memory card collection.
I had a little trouble popping my SD and CF memory cards in the Memory Card Travel Case. I had to push a little harder to make sure they were fully snapped in. I found myself being extra careful with the SD cards, since they are more fragile than the CF cards. If the lining was more on the soft rubber side, getting them in would be a tad easier. This isn't a deal breaker, just a slight matter to get used to.
The Digital FOCI Memory Card Travel case is a VERY small investment of $9.95 to make to protect and keep your precious memory cards in one spot. They make great stocking stuffers too. *wink* *wink*
I was trying to delete a photo from my Canon EOS photo gallery and I accidentally deleted the gallery instead of the photo!!! I will be filling up a new gallery with new photos, but I will have to deal with all of the comments I have lost! UGH!!!!
Early last month I as well as several of the Walmart Moms had a chance to sit down with the producers of the Secrets of the Mountain for an exclusive viewing in NYC. Secrets of the Mountain is a television movie produced by Walmart and P&G. I know what you're thinking, "Oh no, not a cheesy made for TV movie full of product placement." Well, let me tell you, there is product placement; a little heavy towards the beginning, but this movie nonetheless is very well done.
It tells of a single mother and her family dealing with issues brought on by divorce. The mom is a public defender who copes with the divorce by keeping busy at work. Her busy schedule puts a strain on the family's relationship, but things change as the family goes on a trip to visit the mountain they inherited from their uncle. The trip turns into a quest of teachable moments. It shows the importance of sticking together as a family through life's trials and triumphs.
With this movie, Walmart and P&G hope to take back primetime family TV by delivering good quality entertainment for families. Remember TGIF? Remember tuning in to ABC every Friday night to watch your favorite family programs? Walmart and P&G are very passionate about this project and they are already working on the next movie. This project will continue if you tune in to the premiere of Secrets of the Mountain April 16, 2010 at 8/7c on NBC. If you have a blog, Twitter, or Facebook account, feel free to post your thoughts. Your feedback will help Walmart and P&G with future productions.

I received review copies of both Alvin and the Chipmunks and The Squeakquel. I can't wait to pop them in for my lil' man!
This afternoon I decided to pop in a DVD in hopes of entertaining Jayden while I attempted to get some work done on my laptop. We had received The Princess and the Frog Blu-ray Combo Pack last week, so I thought that would be a good choice. I loaded up the Blu-ray Disc Player and toggled with the surround sound.
As soon as the movie began, his eyes instantly became glued to the big screen. I thought, "Ok maybe this could work. For real this time." He danced to the tunes, he sat on the coffee table, he ran off and played with toys, and lounged in his chair. He laughed. He pointed. He whined for cookties, wawa, and paci. Then he started to itch. And I got my hands all greasy slathering him in ointment. He wanted to snuggle. He tossed and turned. He held on to my fingers for security. He got up and played with his toys and came back for more snuggles. I started to feel as though my mission had failed and this movie was only playing for my pleasure.
When the movie ended, he fell asleep and I snuck off into the office. It was my wish that I'd get some work done this afternoon, only that didn't happen. So I will be staying up a little late tonight until that wish does come true.
I'm giving away 2 The Princess and the Frog single disc DVDs on Sophistishe (ends 4/1/10), go enter.
We had our home theater system installed last Friday. John Frye at Satellite Solutions (Bensenville) did a wonderful job. I will update with more photos soon. I can now do something with these white walls! Vinyl wall art's defintely in order.
On February 25th-ish, I tweeted that I had a secret. I had been let down a few times after being completely excited about something that winter, so I quickly pushed the hush button. It's been 8 months, a move, and an installation. It's time I spill... We were chosen as a Panasonic Living In HD Family. I couldn't believe my eyes as I read the letter. I still can't believe them.
Wow, we are seriously living a dream and it goes beyond this moment.
